Hello, I’m Astrologer Patrick Arundell, and here is your Astrology Overview for WC 4th January 2021.

The first full week of the year, sees a lot of powerful change. Mars, Venus and Mercury are all on the move, and in the case of Mars he also emerges from a shadow period which has lasted quite some time.

The focus is likely to shift more to resources, financial and also geological. Our attitude to our own self worth can also become more robust. Yet there is a danger this week for us all that we can overstate our positions or overstep the proverbial mark. A might is right or dogmatic approach to interactions may create resistance rather than solve issues. If we can work within constraints with patience, persistence and fortitude there is much to achieve.

There are two other strands that run alongside this. Venus and Mercury sparkle brightly, and this can lead to some friendly interactions, but shot through this is the conjunction of Mercury and Pluto which could lead to some sharper more acerbic exchanges. As ever whatever that is going on in our situation is likely to suggest which of these influences is most dominant.

But as Mars moves into Taurus so he initially clashes with Saturn, then from Friday Mercury. Realism could pulverise idealism if we are not too careful. With Mercury joining Saturn and Jupiter, this can bring some sobering conversations to the fore. Embracing truthfulness and trying to see the bigger picture can be really helpful and just as the week finished with Venus ensconced in Capricorn and forging a wonderful and enabling Trine to Mars, something magical but also tangible can unfold.
