Tree of Life Drum Birthing Workshops
Attending a group drum birthing workshop is a mystical and magical experience!
At Tree of Life Academy, we believe that a medicine drum is far more than a musical instrument.
It is a personal companion, created with purpose, intention and respect.
Every drum begins its journey long before workshop day.
The purpose of each drum is shaped by the intention with which it is born
For this reason, no two drums are ever the same.
Each drum carries its own story.
Each drum has its own voice.
Each drum begins its own journey.
The drum you create will become more than something you have made.
It will become something with which you build a relationship, growing alongside you through meditation, healing, ceremony and the unfolding chapters of your own path.
On the day:
After settling in and getting to know each other we will open the workshop with a guided meditation and as the day progresses will enjoy further meditations to connect with the wood of the drum frame, with the deerskin and the deer it belonged to, and finally with the drum itself.
You will be guided step-by-step through the process of birthing your drum and also creating your own beater to play the drum.
Aftercare advice is also provided to keep your drum in tip-top condition.
I keep groups intentionally limited to just 4 people to give you the optimum attention when birthing your drum
